Scholarship deadline lists rot. This calendar uses the same 24 scholarships as our eligibility checker, sorted by whichever closes next. Deadlines marked confirmed carry an exact published date; deadlines marked varies genuinely change by programme, university or country each cycle, and we link you to the source instead of inventing one number.

Confirmed dates and “varies” are not the same thing

A confirmed date is the one published for the current cycle on that scholarship’s own page, and it is what we used when we wrote the guide. A varies label means the funder itself does not publish one single date — DAAD sets a different deadline per programme, Fulbright per country, Commonwealth Scholarships require going through a national nominating body first, and Belgium’s two schemes each run on their host institution’s own calendar. Inventing a single date for any of these would be more confident-sounding and less true. Click through to the guide for the specific window that applies to you.

Working backwards from a deadline

The deadline is the last item in a chain that starts months earlier. Referees need three to four weeks’ notice for a letter worth reading. Language test slots at busy centres fill weeks out, and results take a further one to two weeks. Several of these scholarships also require something before the scholarship deadline even opens — a completed McGill or Groningen admission application, a Commonwealth nominating-body submission, or a secondary-school nomination for Lester B. Pearson. Read the specific guide for your target scholarship for that chain, not just the final date.

Frequently asked questions

Why do some scholarships show no exact date?

Because the funder itself doesn’t publish one single date — it genuinely depends on your country, programme, or host institution. We link you to where to find your specific deadline rather than guess at a placeholder.

Are these deadlines for the same cycle as the eligibility checker?

Yes — both tools track the same 24 scholarships and are updated together.

What if a listed date has already passed?

It’s dimmed and marked “likely passed” — most of these scholarships run annual cycles, so a passed date usually means the next cycle will open on a similar date, but confirm on the official page rather than assuming.

How current is this calendar?

Every date was read from the scholarship’s own official page during the same research pass as our full guides, current as of September 2026. Deadlines move without much notice — confirm on the linked page before you build a plan around any single date.
